What is Team AngelWolf?

Team AngelWolf is a non profit foundation (licensed by CDA) that promotes an inclusive, active life together with People of Determination (people with disabilities). Their focus is on Inclusive Impactivity, working with families and individuals of all abilities in a welcoming, motivational and connected space. They participate in a whole range of events as a community; from extreme, world record breaking challenges to community walks.

To address the barriers they found with community inclusion, they present to schools and corporates to share a different perspective on inclusion. All to create a platform of community togetherness; to overlook differences, discover similarities and connections. With the belief that together, we can create a more inclusive, healthier, kinder, global community.

“I first met Nick when he thankfully helped with my training to climb the 3 tallest peaks in Great Britain: Ben Nevis, Scarfell & Snowdon: it was a huge challenge for me however, with his help I completed 3 all: 2 of them within 24 hrs!

It was then that I met his adorable son – here is their story”

The Team AngelWolf Story

In the quiet corners of our world, Team AngelWolf was born, from a deeply personal journey, by a British expat family, residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

A decade ago, Rio, their eldest child, (21, a person with disabilities from a rare chromosome condition – ‘1q44 deletion denovo’,) discovered a passion for inclusive races, particularly triathlons.

To participate in inclusive triathlons, Rio’s dad or younger sister would swim pulling him a kayak, cycle on an adapted bike where Rio has a seat on the front and run pushing Rio in his running chair. They covered distances from sprints to Half Ironmans. This lead to participating in other races like marathons, ultra distances and obstacle courses: always including Rio.

So far Rio has participated in over 500 races internationally, with inclusion, covering over 15,000kms. For Rio, racing weekly fulfilled a passion and purpose for him and made him feel ‘included’ within community, with equity not pity.

Globally, it has showcased the transformative power of sports for individuals with disabilities. Some of his races can last 20 minutes some can last 7 + hours for 7 + days; to him, the longer the better, it fulfills his sensory needs!

We now help sponsor their activities and needs here in Dubai and improve awareness & exposure for their cause
